Glenn James is a songwriter, pianist and composer. His music has been performed and recorded with Tapestry New Opera, Scarborough Players, Digital Prowess, The Sneak Peek Orchestra, TorQ Percussion Quartet, junctQín keyboard collective and The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He is a founding member of the Toy Piano Composers, a Toronto-based collective founded in 2008. He is currently pursuing his DMA studies in composition at the University of British Columbia.
TwtrSymphony Pianist Erica Sipes
I’m playing with TwtrSymphony because for me, music is all about people and relationships. Some of my strongest friendships are with musicians I’ve met on twitter so making music with them, using twitter as an inspiration, makes perfect sense to me, especially since it would be difficult to make music with many of them in person. I also felt drawn to the project because I believe that as a classical musician I need to start thinking outside the box; to start challenging myself to think beyond the training I got in school and to incorporate new ideas, new technology into my own music making. Last but not least, I am in TwtrSymphony because it sounded fun and although that might trite, I’m all for having fun, especially when it comes to music.
