When I see the audition results

Offer’s to be part of TwtrSymphony went out

53 offers to musicians from around the world were sent out tonight in preparation for announcing the list of musicians tomorrow!   The competition was extremely stiff, and the choices were difficult!

Nearly half (50) did not make the selection for one reason or another.  So, to those who have been chosen, congratulations. To those who have not, we will undoubtedly have more of these auditions as the requests to participate continues to grow.

As soon as we have confirmation from the musicians asked to participate, we will post a list of those amazing musicians who found Twitter to be THE place to create music together.

Auditions are closed

Unless you have received special consideration for submitting your audition after today, we are accepting no more auditions requests at this time.

300+ musicians inquired about joining TwtrSymphony

147 musicians requested to auditions

20 have pulled out without submitting an audition

There is still a lot of work to do to get to the final list of musicians playing in our orchestra, but we’re getting close!

Horn Audition

Here are four horn players, playing the same piece of music.  There are almost no edits to the music, no added effects.  You are hearing them play just as they sent their files to me.    Pretty awesome if you ask me!

More and More auditions, listening and more listening!

Over the past week I have listened to over 100 different musicians, many submitting more than one recording.  Each recording is placed into a master file with all the other recordings by the same instrument and matched up with the original click track.

Some of the recordings are extremely accurate and require no real adjustment other than making sure the first note lines up.  Other recordings take a bit more care.  Still, the overall quality of the recordings is much higher than I expected.

Add to this all the administrative work necessary to try and keep straight whose file belongs with whom, who has submitted an audition and who hasn’t.

This is a pretty long process, and I’ve a long ways to go before it’s done.

 - If there was a question of my sanity for starting this project in the first place? Well, I’m certain it’ll be completely gone by the time I’m finished with auditions!

Auditions Pouring In

It was a busy weekend for people getting their auditions in!

Some really great moments happened in which I hope to share with you over the next few days as we ramp up for the Announcement on Friday!
